Karl originally trained as an accountant in London (FCCA) qualifying in 1987 whilst working in financial services. Head hunted to work for JP Morgan Karl developed a deep understanding of business intelligence supporting the European comptroller to significantly increase operational efficiency. After marrying his New Zealand wife in 1994, Karl established a boutique business providing strategic and tactical consultancy to global financial institutions in the city. 
Working for clients such as Chemical Bank, Nomura, Nat West, Chase Manhattan and Credit Suisse First Boston, Karl implemented core back office systems, end to end derivative trading solutions, advanced business intelligence and compliance solutions across AML / CTF and prudential reporting.
In 2005 Karl and his family moved to rural New Zealand and has worked on a range of projects across local government, GRC technology, healthcare / Whanau Ora, education, manufacturing, and utilities. In 2017 Karl joined the executive team at Thames Coromandel District Council heading corporate services functions (COO/CFO/CTO) and rapidly improved the capability of these support functions.
With a passion for new technology, business models and building awesome teams Karl has returned to consultancy delivering robust practical advice, support and solutions to navigate a complex and chaotic world both to clients in New Zealand and virtually across the globe.
